Android Outshines iPhone

Now this may sound a bit weird for those not that technologically oriented, esp mobile but this is definitely something for that huge technical friend base of mine. The technology giant Google has got a point to cheer. According to NPD, a consumer marketing research organization, Google's Android platform is reported to have left iPhone far behind in sales securing the second position after RIM's Blackberry.

According to NPD RIM’s Blackberry OS market share is maintained at 36% of the US market, Android has 28% and iPhone has 21% of the market share. It is understood that the growth of Android OS is attributed to the larger carrier support, competitive pricing and image of the carrier. The additional goodies and attractive offers like Verizon’s "buy one get one free" has proved as an icing on the cake. So be it the technofreaks or the bargain mongers, the android phones are the way to go.
