What is Brand and Branding ?

Branding I have sacrificed a promising career in IT to get into Advertising and Marketing and lack of any formal training keeps my hunger for any knowledge in these areas burning. It keeps me on a constant learning path.  Brand and Branding are the most talked about and discussed topic in the field of marketing but yet the Making of a Brand has always been a big mystery. It begins with the understanding that a brand is far more than just a name or a logo. Instead, it’s comprised of a complete set of attributes and tools, or “identity elements,” that give the brand a unique identity. Brand elements Name At the core of a brand identity is the name, outliving ad campaigns, taglines, and even logo treatments. Descriptive names such as Intel and QuickBooks work because they immediately suggest positive attributes, while key associations for coined names such as Kodak and Exxon have been crafted over time. Logo  Almost all of the world’s strongest brands h

False Advertising

Advertising Excellence

Here are some of the most astonishing and hard hitting ads of the current times.      Save Trees..Trees Save! Fevicol aisa jod lagaye, ache se acha na tod paye! You can see an absolute exaggeration in terms of expression. The opposite repelling poles being stick with the Fevicol. Milk Power! Ads are where you should leave all your logical thinking behind to appreciate the creativity of the Admaker. The power of milk enables a child to leave impressions of his fingers on otherwise brittle and delicate glass tumbler.    Big Bazaar Women's Day Ad  They all have gone to enjoy the Women's day offers... what are you doing?? The ad beautifully brings about the central message of how interested the women will be for this special women's day offer.

Indian Rupee gets a Unique Identity

Indian RUPEE gets an international status symbol, joins Elite currency club — designed by Bombay IIT post-graduate D Udaya Kumar, is a blend of the Devanagri 'Ra' and Roman 'R' in having a distinct identity — reflecting that the Indian currency is backed by an over-trillion $ economy, symbolizing OUR inching steadily but surely towards being First World countries! Android Outshines iPhone

Now this may sound a bit weird for those not that technologically oriented, esp mobile but this is definitely something for that huge technical friend base of mine. The technology giant Google has got a point to cheer. According to NPD, a consumer marketing research organization, Google's Android platform is reported to have left iPhone far behind in sales securing the second position after RIM's Blackberry. According to NPD RIM’s Blackberry OS market share is maintained at 36% of the US market, Android has 28% and iPhone has 21% of the market share. It is understood that the growth of Android OS is attributed to the larger carrier support, competitive pricing and image of the carrier. The additional goodies and attractive offers like Verizon’s "buy one get one free" has proved as an icing on the cake. So be it the technofreaks or the bargain mongers, the android phones are the way to go.
